1. Eligibility and Account Registration
1.1 Age Requirements

1.2 Account Creation
To access certain Services, including labs, dashboards, course materials, and certification programs, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You agree to:

- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Use your real name and valid contact information
- Not create multiple accounts or share your account with others
1.3 Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized access or security breach.
1.4 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including but not limited to fraudulent activity, abusive behavior, academic dishonesty, or misuse of Services.
2. Use of Services and Acceptable Use Policy
2.1 Permitted Use
You may use our Services solely for lawful educational purposes. The Services are designed to provide professional cybersecurity training in a controlled, ethical environment.
2.2 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Unauthorized Access: Attempting to access restricted areas, other users' accounts, or systems beyond authorized scope
- Malicious Activity: Using knowledge gained from our Services to harm, exploit, or attack real-world systems, networks, or individuals
- Academic Dishonesty: Sharing lab solutions, exam answers, or course materials with other students
- Service Disruption: Engaging in any activity that disrupts, interferes with, or degrades the Services or server infrastructure
- Intellectual Property Violation: Copying, reproducing, redistributing, or creating derivative works from our content without permission
- Automation Abuse: Using automated scripts, bots, or tools to access the Services without authorization
- False Representation: Impersonating instructors, staff, or other students
- Harassment: Engaging in harassment, bullying, or discriminatory behavior toward other users
- Illegal Activity: Using the Services for any illegal purpose or in violation of local, national, or international law
2.3 Lab Environment Ethics
Our lab environments are designed for educational purposes only. Skills learned must be applied ethically and legally. You agree to:
- Only perform security testing on systems you are explicitly authorized to test
- Follow responsible disclosure practices if you discover vulnerabilities
- Respect the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) and equivalent laws in your jurisdiction
- Never use lab techniques against production systems, personal devices, or networks without proper authorization
3. Intellectual Property Rights
3.1 Our Content
All content, materials, software, logos, trademarks, course materials, lab environments, documentation, videos, and instructional content on the Website are the exclusive property of AstralGuard Cyber Academy or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
3.2 Limited License
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the educational materials solely for your personal educational purposes. This license does not permit you to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Services or content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from our software or platforms
- Remove copyright notices, trademarks, or proprietary marks
- Create derivative works or compilations
- Use content for commercial purposes without written permission
3.3 Student Work
You retain ownership of your original work created during courses. However, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use your work for educational, promotional, and demonstration purposes with proper attribution.
4. Payments, Fees, and Refunds
4.1 Payment Terms
Certain courses, certifications, or services require payment. All fees are:
- Due at the time of purchase through our approved payment methods
- Stated in USD or local currency as indicated
- Subject to applicable taxes and transaction fees
- Non-transferable between students or courses
4.2 Price Changes
We reserve the right to modify course prices at any time. Price changes do not affect purchases already completed.
4.3 Refund Policy
Refunds are handled according to our separate Refund Policy. Generally:
- Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of purchase
- Course content must not have been substantially accessed
- Certification exam fees are non-refundable
- Subscription services may be cancelled but are non-refundable for the current billing period
4.4 Payment Security
We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect payment information. We do not store complete credit card numbers on our servers.
5. Course Access and Certifications
5.1 Course Access Duration
Access to purchased courses is typically granted for the duration specified at purchase, which may be:
- Lifetime access for self-paced courses
- Fixed duration (e.g., 3 months, 6 months) for bootcamp programs
- Access until course completion for structured programs
5.2 Certification Requirements
To earn certifications, you must:
- Complete all required coursework and assessments
- Achieve minimum passing scores on exams
- Comply with academic integrity policies
- Meet any additional requirements specified for the program
5.3 Certificate Validity
Certificates may be revoked if we discover violations of academic integrity, fraudulent activity, or other breaches of these Terms.
6. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of our Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Services, you consent to:
- Collection and processing of your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
7.1 Educational Purpose Disclaimer
Our Services are provided for educational purposes only. Participation in labs, simulations, or exercises does not authorize, endorse, or encourage illegal activity against real-world systems. You are solely responsible for ensuring your activities comply with all applicable laws.
7.2 No Warranties
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties of non-infringement
- Warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content
- Warranties of uninterrupted or error-free service
7.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AstralGuard Cyber Academy, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Service interruptions or delays
- Unauthorized access to your account
- Errors or omissions in content
- Actions taken based on information provided through the Services
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
7.4 Career Outcomes
We make no guarantees regarding employment, career advancement, salary increases, or certification exam success. Individual results vary based on effort, background, and market conditions.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AstralGuard Cyber Academy, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your misuse of the Services or content
- Your violation of any law or the rights of third parties
- Your unauthorized use of skills learned from our Services
- Any content you submit or share through the Services
9. Termination and Suspension
9.1 Our Rights
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms or our policies
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Failure to pay fees when due
- Extended periods of inactivity
- Behavior that harms or threatens other users or our Services
9.2 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to access the Services immediately ceases

- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Uganda, without regard to conflict of law principles.
10.2 Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through:
- Informal Resolution: First, contact us at support@academy.astralguard.online to resolve the matter informally
- Mediation: If informal resolution fails, parties agree to attempt good-faith mediation
- Legal Proceedings: If mediation fails, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Uganda
10.3 Arbitration Waiver
Both parties waive the right to a jury trial and agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action or collective proceeding.
11. International Use
The Services are controlled and operated from Uganda. We make no representation that the Services are appropriate or available for use in all locations. If you access the Services from outside Uganda, you are responsible for compliance with local laws and regulations.
